Day Off Adventures......

September 26, 2017

.............or, "let's go to the beach and see how much sea glass we can get in one day", among other things!  I'm still pinching myself that not only do I get to take more than one day off in a row (what a concept), but that I get to do it here, in the beautiful town of North Berwick in the "World's Most Beautiful Place", Scotland (seriously, it was recently voted that, check out the link!).  And........ I LIVE HERE!  It still doesn't feel real.  We have been here for three months now, and in some ways it has gone so fast, but mostly it just feels like home.

Dory and I went for 2 walks on the beach today - one in the early morning hours, and one mid day.  Becca and I love to collect sea glass, and the amount on the beach today was just incredible!  Sea Glass  is so beautiful, and I really enjoy picking it up right from under my feet on the beach.  It can be created by tumbling glass, but, as we know, that's cheating.  I think it's so cool that it takes decades to develop the frosted effect, maybe even hundreds of years for some pieces.  Way too much fun.  I've got some ideas of what I want to do with them eventually, but I'm not telling.

I've also got a little project going for my Cowboy Dressage lessons.  Many of the places I teach do not have cones or poles to set up the regular court, let alone the "Challenge" court, so I'm taking things into my own hands.  I found some collapsible cones that I am in the process of painting white, then I will stencil on the letters. That way I can say, "have cones, will travel"!  It's not always easy to find a dry day to do all the spray painting, but today is an awesome, sunny, warm day, so I'm trying to get as many done as possible.

Between walks and painting I'm trying to finish putting things away and finally getting everything in it's place in the house.  We are almost there.  I shudder to think how much work it would have been to move into this house if we hadn't downsized so incredibly much before we came - it still seems like there is so much to do.  Another reason to be glad of having days off now and then!  And, I do promise, that soon we will do photos inside and out to show everyone the wonderful house that we call home.
